Most Malaysian sweets are fried or made of glutinous rice. They come in a myriad of shapes and colours. While they all look fascinating, the taste of most of them is actually quite plain. There are however two snacks that definitely stand out in the crowd:
1. Apam Balik – peanut pancakes. It’s kind of a street food. You won’t find it in any restaurant in Malaysia. You can buy them however on any night market for as cheap as 0.5 MYR. They are very sweet and satiating. Filling, made of peanuts and honey, gives them strong and distinctive taste.
