Suichang, Zhejiang, Tea hills
Once in a while it’s nice to go somewhere for a weekend. Suichang seams like a nice choice for a short escapade. It’s  one of the most interesting Lishui counties. Hot springs, white water rafting, gold mine and National Park are it’s most known attractions. You can however try something different, far from well established tourist paths…

Tea harvest
Suichang is one of nine Lishui counties, located in Zhejiang province. Town itself is quite small, but set in a beautiful location. It appears to be hidden among the mountains. You don’t need to go far to experience one of it’s wonders. Just outside the town there are the tea hills which extended for many kilometers. This is one of the most unique and interesting landscapes in China. If you wish to see something original Chinese, without crowds of tourists breathing in your neck, that would be your choice. Among those hills you can hike for hours, never reaching the end of the road. The most amazing thing though, is that walking those little paths makes you probably THE FIRST foreigner, who has ever sat a foot in those mountains. You don’t have to go to the jungle to feel like an explorer…

After whole day of walking you can go to the night market to grab a bite.

Travelling tips:

1. To get to Suichang you should take a bus from Lishui West Bus Station (cost of the ticket is 36 RMB). Journey will take you 1,5 hour.

2. Tea hills are all around Suichang but the easiest access is from either Down Nanemen Rd. or Jiuchang Rd. Just walk along one of those streets and climb whichever hill you’ll fancy on the way.
